Environment Group led the technical and financial groundwork for the Tsitsernakaberd Urban Green Restoration, developing a comprehensive implementation roadmap to ensure long-term sustainability and climate resilience for this major urban infrastructure initiative.

Environment Group conducted an extensive Environmental and Socio-economic Risk Assessment of E-waste, focusing specifically on solar and electric vehicle (EV) streams. This project ensures that Armenia’s rapid transition to clean transport is actively supported by sustainable, end-of-life waste management practices. By delivering a comprehensive risk analysis, circular economy regulatory frameworks, and actionable policy recommendations, our team provided a complete roadmap for an ecologically and economically sustainable EV transition.

Environment Group developed Armenia’s first comprehensive debt-for-climate swap concept, channeling external debt service into domestic climate action. This proactive financial model redirects bilateral debt payments toward priority environmental investments, recently securing a landmark €23 million agreement with Germany. By preparing over USD 200 million in targeted proposals and structuring the necessary legal architecture, the project provides a scalable roadmap for transforming fiscal obligations into long-term environmental security.

Environment Group developed the GCF-Armenia Country Cooperation Program tailored to the Green Climate Fund’s 2024-2027 strategic plan. This initiative successfully combined the creation of a comprehensive national climate finance roadmap with the rigorous structuring of a bankable climate investment pipeline. By finalizing strategic guidelines and shortlisting six major climate projects for funding, our experts positioned Armenia to maximize its international climate finance engagement.

Environment Group conducted environmental and social feasibility assessments for the State Tax Service’s Yerevan and Syunik customs and logistics centers. The project evaluated the sustainability, climate resilience, and social impacts critical to supporting this major infrastructure modernization. By delivering comprehensive baseline studies and targeted action plans, our team ensured these investments strictly align with international environmental and social standards.

Environment Group provided essential consulting services for the implementation of the environmental and social audit and assessment of a Deposit Refund System (DRS) in Armenia. The primary objective of this project was to thoroughly assess the feasibility and design of a DRS for single-use beverage packaging ensuring the framework strictly aligns with the CEPA obligations and international circular economy standards.

Environment Group provided comprehensive corporate and municipal support services for Kotayk and Gegharkunik Solid Waste Management Project. Financed by the EBRD, EU NIF, and E5P, this major initiative aims to modernize regional waste infrastructure in strict alignment with EU environmental standards. By conducting critical environmental and socio-economic impact analyses alongside extensive legal and stakeholder support, our team ensured the sustainable execution of this transformative project.

Environment Group co-authored a comprehensive report to enhance strategic financing for Armenia’s natural resource sectors. This landmark project utilized the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) framework to rigorously quantify and value the nation's natural capital across forests, grasslands, and wetlands. By delivering macroeconomic diagnostics and a phased investment roadmap to 2030, our team provided the government with an operational blueprint to bridge conservation financing gaps and transition toward a sustainable finance ecosystem.

Environment Group assisted the Government of Armenia in designing and phasing the implementation of a national Deposit Refund System (DRS). By delivering a comprehensive legal and technical analysis based on European Union best practices, our experts adapted Lithuania’s successful framework to the local context. Ultimately, this project provided the Armenian government with a strategic, evidence-based blueprint for modernizing its national waste management infrastructure.

Environment Group’s own Erik Grigoryan, a key figure and authorized representative in Armenia’s Debt for Climate swap has used the innovative financial initiative aims to reduce Armenia’s external debt by redirecting debt services towards high-priority national climate projects.

Environment Group provided specialized advisory services for the “Vedi without plastic” campaign celebrating European Heritage Day. In partnership with the Vedi Municipality, this strategic initiative fostered community engagement and behavioral change to significantly reduce single-use plastic consumption. By delivering localized pollution impact assessments and municipal intervention frameworks, our team established a scalable model for community-led waste reduction aligned with EU circular economy strategies.

Environment Group provided key strategic advisory and facilitation services to the international developer and investor to support the early-stage structuring of an afforestation and reforestation project in Armenia. Environment Group leveraged its deep understanding of local environmental governance and stakeholder dynamics to lay the essential groundwork for the project. By establishing vital lines of communication with public authorities, identifying suitable land plots, and engaging with civil society, the initiative effectively aligns foundational project structuring with Armenia’s administrative and environmental landscape.

Environment Group delivered the initial environmental and socioeconomic impact assessments for the rehabilitation of Gilli Lake and Marshes. This project established a comprehensive ecological and socio-economic baseline to guide large-scale landscape restoration and sustainable community development in the Lake Sevan region. By identifying environmental risks and formulating structured operational guidelines, our team provided the technical frameworks necessary to align these rehabilitation goals with international conservation standards.

Environment Group supported in developing a 240-hectare reforestation initiative by establishing a comprehensive environmental framework and operational guidelines. This strategic project aligned localized reforestation efforts with international climate standards and Armenia’s national environmental goals to ensure long-term sustainability. By building a robust technical foundation, our team positioned the initiative to meet stringent green financing criteria and deliver verifiable nature-based solutions.

Environment Group conducted a comprehensive legal and regulatory analysis of natural resource management in Armenia. This assignment focused on identifying operational risks and compliance requirements to successfully streamline international investments in the sector. By auditing national frameworks against international guidelines, our team delivered a crucial compliance roadmap to ensure large-scale initiatives meet both domestic laws and global sustainability standards.

Collaborating with GEF and UNEP, Environment Group provided strategic consulting to accelerate Armenia’s national shift toward low-carbon transport. Through the “Transition Towards Electric Mobility” program, our team ensured that national procurement strategies and operational policies fully aligned with international green transition goals. By delivering optimized EV charging infrastructure mapping, technical guidelines, and robust policy interventions, we established a sustainable framework to support a resilient, long-term e-mobility ecosystem.

Assigned under the Central Asia Hydrometeorology Modernization Project (CAHMP), the Environment Group assisted to deliver a comprehensive feasibility study for the development of Kyrgyzhydromet. The initiative was designed to transform the Kyrgyz Republic’s National Meteorological and Hydrological Service into a modern, sustainable, and user-oriented agency. By evaluating existing monitoring networks, analyzing institutional structures, and outlining strategic operational pathways, the project established the foundational blueprint for the agency’s complete modernization.

Environment Group studied and identified the economic privileges and incentives of double (secondary) water use by water users, exploring the possibilities of introduction and practical application of such incentives in Armenia.

Environment Group led the development of the official Implementation Plan, Investment Plan, and Financing Strategy for Armenia’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) for the 2021-2030 period.

Environment Group served as the primary technical consultant to Ministry of Environment, preparing Armenia for the Green Climate Fund’s (GCF) second replenishment round, established the national strategic roadmap for climate action.

Environment Group assisted the Ministry of Environment in implementing Armenia’s electric mobility strategy. The assignment included development of an EV charging infrastructure map, procurement strategy, and policy recommendations to support the country’s transition to cleaner transport.

Environment Group provided high-level strategic advisory support to the Government of the Republic of Armenia in its capacity as the host country for the upcoming UN Biodiversity Conference (COP17) scheduled for October 2026. The project focused on shaping national positions, structuring the comprehensive COP17 work program, and driving multi-partner coordination. By delivering continuous expert input and facilitating consensus-building, Environment Group ensured the government was strategically, operationally, and diplomatically equipped to lead a successful international environmental summit.
