Afforestation and Reforestation Project Structuring
Client: The Shared Wood Company (France)
Environment Group provided key strategic advisory and facilitation services to the international developer and investor to support the early-stage structuring of an afforestation and reforestation project in Armenia. Environment Group leveraged its deep understanding of local environmental governance and stakeholder dynamics to lay the essential groundwork for the project. By establishing vital lines of communication with public authorities, identifying suitable land plots, and engaging with civil society, the initiative effectively aligns foundational project structuring with Armenia’s administrative and environmental landscape.
Environment Group assumed an essential advisory role during the foundational phases of a sustainable afforestation and reforestation initiative of The Shared Wood Company in Armenia. Navigating complex local governance systems and local dynamics, our experts focused on establishing a solid framework to ensure the project’s long-term viability. This ongoing collaboration bridges international development expertise with national resource opportunities and land-use frameworks.
To deliver on this assignment, Environment Group executed a targeted suite of facilitation and initial assessment services. Our team facilitated direct contacts and strategic meetings with key governmental stakeholders, including the Ministry of Environment and the national forest agency, ensuring that the project’s objectives were transparently communicated to regulatory bodies. Furthermore, we actively supported the developer’s requests and ongoing dialogue with Armenian public authorities regarding the official allocation of land for afforestation activities. On the ground, Environment Group assisted in the identification and initial assessment of specific land plots suitable for successful afforestation and reforestation. To ensure strong regional alignment, we also identified and successfully liaised with local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) active in forest restoration and ecosystem rehabilitation, building a collaborative baseline for future environmental stewardship.
