Tsitsernakaberd Urban Green Restoration Project

Client: Armenia Tree Project

Partner: Eloyan Architects LLC (Armenia)

Environment Group acted as the Sole Consultant for the Armenia Tree Project, leading the technical and financial groundwork for a major urban infrastructure project in Armenia. Developing an implementation roadmap to ensure long-term sustainability and climate resilience.

To address the critical need for sustainable urban infrastructure in Armenia, Environment Group conducted a full technical feasibility study and comprehensive financial modeling for the restoration project. As part of the foundational fieldwork, the team executed a thorough ecological inventory and preliminary zoning of the territory. This localized study determined tree species composition, average stand height, and age, providing the essential cartographic data required to plan targeted silvicultural and reforestation measures.

Building on this ecological baseline, Environment Group collaborated with the architectural firm Eloyan Architects to develop the project’s comprehensive master plan. This spatial planning phase included detailed functional zoning, the mapping of street and trail networks, and a thorough analysis of historical monument protection zones to ensure cultural preservation.

To support the physical execution of this large-scale restoration, Environment Group designed a highly efficient, climate-resilient irrigation network covering an expansive 65-hectare (65 ha) zone. Our experts specifically engineered this system and its associated engineering calculations to feature seamless solar power integration, actively minimizing the operational carbon footprint and establishing a modern standard for eco-friendly, self-sustaining public infrastructure.

To turn these technical designs into a fully actionable construction phase, our team delivered detailed capital expenditure (CAPEX) costing alongside a structured implementation roadmap. This meticulous financial and operational blueprint serves to guide the project efficiently from its initial inception through to successful completion, ensuring the long-term vitality and climate resilience of one of Armenia’s most significant urban green spaces.
