NDC Implementation Plan for Armenia
Client: United Nations Development Programme
Environment Group led the development of the official Implementation Plan, Investment Plan, and Financing Strategy for Armenia’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) for the 2021-2030 period.
This strategic initiative was designed to support a highly effective and transparent coordination process, creating a practical roadmap to ensure Armenia successfully meets its obligations under the Paris Agreement. Specifically, the project focused on architecting concrete pathways to fulfill the national pledge of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030.
To achieve this, Environment Group transformed high-level national climate pledges into an actionable, sector-by-sector roadmap. Our experts authored the comprehensive 2021-2030 NDC Implementation Plan, defining precise mitigation and adaptation strategies across critical segments of the economy, including the energy, agriculture, forestry, transport, and waste management sectors. This rigorous approach ensured that domestic policies were seamlessly aligned with international climate finance requirements, actively positioning the country to attract and absorb future green investments.
Furthermore, to guarantee long-term accountability and quantifiable success, Environment Group designed the national Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) framework. This robust technical system ensures the accurate, transparent, and continuous tracking of Armenia’s climate progress, facilitating compliant and highly reliable reporting directly to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
