Facilitation and support of the largest private reforestation and afforestation project:

Environment Group provided consulting services for the development of 4000 hectare reforestation and afforestation project. This initiative is one of the largest private reforestation and afforestation efforts in Armenia’s history. Armenia has committed to doubling its forest cover by 2050, this project has provided a significant boost towards this goal.

What we delivered:

• Environment Group assumed a consultant and facilitator role to the lead developer and investor, The Shared Wood Company, to operate the large-scale project. Refining business frameworks to ensure the carbon model aligns with the Armenian legal and economic context.

• Facilitated channels of communication between The Shared Wood Company and the Armenian Landscape, navigating the Ministry of Environment to ensure the project aligns with Armenia’s national climate targets

• Coordinated and conducted consultations with local stakeholders and NGOs to identify potential concerns as well as discussing co-benefits of the project such as economical impact, with hundreds of jobs in rural regions expected to derive from this project.
